This class is ACE FMS approved. New students please contact for a meeting before signing up. On going student may sign up.
Introduction to Pottery Beginner's Class. No prior experience necessary. Age 15yrs plus, kids under 15 yrs are welcome as long as their parent sign up for the class too.
Fee includes 4-two hour long instructional class, 5th week class as free studio time , clay, a tool kit, food safe glazes, Bisque and glaze firing in our on-site kiln.
We meet once a week for 5 weeks. Fifth class is to pick up your work. You may continue to work during the fifth week as a studio member or just to finish up your project.
In this four weeks we will cover two techniques:
1)Hand building : pinch pot technique, bowls
2)Hand building : rolling pin, slump or hump technique
3) Hand building: slab roller, platter with slumping technique
4) Different glazing techniques
Last class will focus on glazing the bisque-ware. All the glazed items need to be fired one more time before you get to take them home.
please bring your apron that you don't mind getting clay on.
