Introduction to Pottery Beginner's Class. No prior experience necessary. Age 15yrs plus, kids under 15 yrs are welcome as long as their parent sign up for the class too.
It’s a 5 week session of two hour long class each week. 1st-4th week are instructional, 5th week class is a free open studio.
Fee includes clay, a tool kit, food safe glazes, Bisque and glaze firing in our on-site kiln for projects made in week 1-4th.
You may continue to work during the fifth week as a studio member (need to purchase your clay from the studio) or just to finish up your project or pick up your work if it’s ready for pick up
In this four weeks we will cover two techniques:
1)Pottery wheel - week 1 and 2
2)Hand building week 3
3)Different glazing techniques - week 4
Fourth class will focus on glazing the bisque-ware. All the glazed items need to be fired one more time before you get to take them home.
please bring your apron that you don't mind getting clay on.
Just fyi:
-long nails might pose a challenge while throwing on the wheel.
- Bring along a hair tie in case you have long hair.
